There are 17 lessons in total and 3 unit exams. Each week, students will have an online course meeting with a Registered Dietitian (RD) preceptor. Students will work on worksheets after each lesson as their homework to apply what they learned during the class and their on-site experience. All worksheets will be evaluated by a RD preceptor and feedback will also be provided to students. This gives students the opportunity to go back to their worksheets and make corrections on their answers based on the feedback so students will deepen their knowledge and learn from mistakes. All students are required to have their field experience hours throughout the course. Students will work with an on-site RD, who will provide support to students and answer questions as needed. Additionally, all students will be gathered together in-person with RD preceptors.
Students will make their connections with their peers and exchange ideas and opinions. RD preceptors will also answer common difficult questions in the worksheets and any other potential questions as a dietary manager. All completed worksheets will be uploaded to UND along with the student evaluation from RD preceptors. Additional feedback will be provided by UND course instructors. Students will be able to schedule their unit exams after meeting all requirements for each unit.
Once students complete their course, they will receive the certification of course completion with the eligibility for national exam of Certified Dietary Manager (CDM).
