About NTE

Nutrition Therapy Essentials was founded by Suzanne Ousey in 2012 in San Jose, California, after more than 25 years of experience in the field of nutrition and dietetics. NTE employs compassionate registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) who build strong bonds with their clients and provide services tailored to fit the needs of each facility/organization.

NTE is a group of experienced and passionate RDNs that work with healthcare communities to bring positive changes and outcomes to the residents of the community. It is a unique organization that trains dietetic interns in long-term care communities by pairing them with our network of experienced RDNs, many of whom were once dietetic interns for NTE. This grassroots approach helps create a network of dietitians dedicated to changing lives one meal at a time.

NTE leads to Continuous improvements by assessments and education to optimize food service operation and managing clinical outcomes through collaboration with our clients and dietitians. We consult with healthcare communities to provide medical nutrition therapy, quality assurance assessments (QAPI), dining practices, survey preparation, dietary training/in-services, menu enhancement, dietary services supervisor development. NTE also provides on call dietitian/temporary services for RDN vacation.

Along with consulting RDN services NTE also offers cooking classes, CEUs for RDs and CDMs, private nutrition counseling, and support for community nutrition programs. NTE works in partnership with the American Heart Association for in-class nutrition classes ranging from 6th to 12th grade, as well as partnering with the California Dairy Association.

NTE provides expert RDNs to individualize solutions to each community’s unique dietary,  nutritional and food service needs.
